Why consistency is key to the success of your podcast?

Consistency with podcasting is really really important if you want to build trust with your audience and continue them... to continue for them to be engaged.

So, if your podcast comes out sporadically, comes out on May 11th and then the next one is June 14, then June 20. You're promising the listener that you will be there. So, if you tell someone "I'm gonna be there at our coffee date at 11 a.m. on Tuesday" and you turn up-up Wednesday at 3 p.m., that's not cool! They may be thinking to themselves, they don't care about me. They never even turned up on time and a podcast is the same. If you're telling people "I'm gonna be here every Wednesday at 11 a.m. and then deliver this content and you're gonna love it and you're gonna return every week", then be there. Make sure that you turn up on time. It's like a meeting or a dinner date, you know. There is an expectation set and you need to deliver.

And this is important to build trust with your audience. If you're establishing yourself as a credible expert in your industry, then you need to continue to strengthen that image by showing up when you say you're going to. Now, we're not saying that you have to do a weekly podcast, right. But it's about picking a frequency and sticking to that and being consistent. So, maybe you're releasing every two weeks, or maybe you're doing a ten-part series and releasing every week for 10 weeks and then taking some time off.

But it's about being consistent and not just with the frequency, but also with the length of your podcast.

Absolutely! So don't let one podcast go for half an hour and the next one goes for an hour and a half. People, when they watch a television show, they're like "hmm... I've got 30 minutes. So, I'm gonna watch that crappy 30-minute comedy American sitcom". You know, where other people have that hour for Game of Thrones. Whatever you're going to do, just make sure it's consistent, you know. Someone might have half an hour every morning where they travel to and from work and they will pick your podcast because it goes for half an hour and it's perfect for it. But and if all of a sudden you rock up with a five-minute podcast, It's gonna mess up their morning. Yes.

So, it's about building that consistency and that trust. So, comment below because we would love to hear from you. Do you find it difficult to stay consistent with your podcast? What is the consistency of release that you have picked and does that work for you? We would love to hear from you so comment below and join the discussion. We'll see you in the next video. See you!
