What is a podcast host?
Podcast hosting is essentially the middle man between a podcast creator and their listeners.
It's a place where you'll store all your podcast episodes and where you upload your mp3's.
Just like you need a website to host and store content like pictures written content, you need a podcast hosting platform to host and store the media files for your show.
Podcasting hosting sites use servers for storage, designed specifically for large files as podcast episodes.
We don't recommend uploading your podcasts directly to your website because we're talking about really big files and they are going to slow your website down.
In order to play your podcast on your website, the hosting platform provides you with an embed code that allows you to stream it from your website, kind of like how you would embed a YouTube video.
