💫 The Story Behind The StudioPod
Like many great ideas, The StudioPod started with a simple question: what if we could take the studio on the road?
Podcast Services Australia founders Aaron and Christina began searching for a way to make mobile podcasting a reality — and then they found it. A 1959 fibreglass Sunliner caravan, listed on Facebook Marketplace.
(But it wasn’t exactly ready to roll!)
The caravan was completely gutted — no windows, no proper floor, and the body had started to come away from its base. But Christina and Aaron saw potential.
So they dived in headfirst (completely unaware of the challenges and pain they were about to experience!). The caravan underwent extensive fibreglass repairs, requiring a brand-new floor, new windows, air conditioning, and a full exterior respray. Inside, it was transformed into a purpose-built podcast studio, complete with sound insulation, comfortable booth seating, professional audio and video equipment, and an engineer’s desk.
Along the way, life added its own chapter — including the arrival of their second child — which paused the build for a time. But eventually, the vision came to life.
Birthed in another era and given new life, The StudioPod is now a beautifully restored 1959 Sunliner caravan — reimagined as a mobile podcast recording studio built right here in Melbourne, Australia.
